So, Mr Average Citizen is walking down the street and sees something in the window of a new store that he would absolutely love to own, a brand new pen. He goes in the store to buy it but quickly realizes that he does not have enough money to buy it. He then remembers he is actually deep in debt from his last purchase. This saddens Mr Citizen greatly. This also saddens Mr Pen Maker too because he cannot sell any of his new pens. So Mr pen maker stops making pens. Then, all of a sudden King Sam walks into the store. "Why are you two so sad?" asked King Sam. Mr Citizen explained the situation to the King with much sorrow. King Sam thought long and hard about the problem and responded "Eureka, I got it!" This made Mr Citizen and Mr Pen Maker very happy, so they listened carefully as King Sam explained a solution. "How about you, Mr Citizen, give me a great portion of what money you have in your pocket, and Mr Pen Maker gives me even more. Then I will take this money, keep a portion for myself, and give the remainder to Mr Banker. Then both of you go to Mr Banker and borrow his newly acquired money to make and buy all the pens you want." Both Mr Pen Maker and Mr Citizen were very confused with this idea. "You take quite a bit of my money already King Sam. I barely make enough money off these pens as it is." replied Mr Pen Maker. "And how am I going to pay off my debt if you take even more!" cried Mr Citizen. "No, you don't understand" replied King Sam, "I will take the money and give it to Mr Banker so you can borrow money from him to make pens and pay off loans... with interest of course." Mr Citizen thought for a while then asked "Why do you get to keep some of it?" The King laughed and said "Because I thought of the idea." Neither Mr Citizen or Mr Pen Maker liked the idea. "I don't mean any disrespect King, but wouldn't it be cheaper and easier for us to just keep more of our money instead of borrowing our money back?" Asked Mr Citizen. The King, knowing that this idea put him out of the picture, nervously laughed it off and said "There is no way that would work, because where would people go that don't make as much money as you to get the money to buy pens. You don't want to put Mr Banker out of a job do you? Don't you care at all about Mr Less Fortunate?" This made Mr Citizen and Mr Pen Maker very sad. Even though they both already give money to Mr Less Fortunate when King Sam is not around, they still don't want the King to think they don't care about Mr Less Fortunate. "How will we know that Mr Banker will be responsible with our money?" Asked Mr Citizen, "Didn't he make bad deals with the money we already gave him... wait, didn't you tell Mr Banker to make those deals?" The King pounded his fist on the table and yelled, "I did no such thing!" He stopped for a second and regained his composure. "The Banker made all of those deals on his own. I took his Bank from him and put one of my many men in charge of his bank and you can trust me." Mr King slowly held out his had and said "I am the King, and this is the way we are going to do it." He turned his head slightly and looked out the front window of the store to bring attention to a small group of guards loitering in the street inspecting the belongings of a homeless man. "Would you like me to get their opinion on the matter?" Both men reached for their money and handed it to the King. "That's more like it, let me know next time I can help."
This was not supposed to be this long but I just kept typing.
